How does Protra Group work?

You/your company might have an idea for a product you want to have manufactured? Or perhaps you’ve progressed further and have a prototype you’d like to mass-produce? At Protra Group, we have 5 phases that you can enter or exit as it suits you.

  • Phase 1: Product Development (Quotation, sparring & consulting, drawing/3D visualization, and cutting model)
  • Phase 2: Prototype (The product is presented, refined, and then prepared for production after acceptance)
  • Phase 3: Production (After prototype acceptance, we start the actual production, or you have previously ordered here and are reordering an existing product)
  • Phase 4: Further Development (You have a product, perhaps produced elsewhere, that needs adjustments or further development)
  • Phase 5: Additional Services (We can assist with drawings, logos, packaging, packing, warehousing)
How long does it typically take to go from idea to finished product?

On average, we see a total process from idea to delivered production between 8-12 weeks. This naturally depends on quantity, materials, workload, and, of course, the product’s complexity.

Orders are dispatched from Poland at the end of the month with our own driver. Alternatively, an external freight company is requested.

How does Protra Group ensure high quality?

We have daily contact with our in-house production, staffed by permanent and competent employees. This ensures that all procedures and manufactured products meet our customers’ expectations.

Time for inspection of manufactured products before dispatch is included in all productions.

We only purchase materials through reliable European suppliers, all of whom comply with various certifications, including REACH and EU RoHS.

Communication during the process is absolutely crucial for success. All communication goes through our Danish sales office, which is available by email or phone every weekday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and is always ready to answer questions, help, and provide the necessary service to achieve the goal. This is where we excel and create pronounced security for you/your company from start to finish.

Protra Group has developed a comprehensive CSR strategy, which is continuously followed and updated annually to ensure it reflects both internal goals and external requirements. The strategy particularly focuses on creating proper and safe working conditions for our employees, where well-being, safety, and respect are central elements. Furthermore, we prioritize environmental considerations highly. We actively work to reduce material waste at all stages of our processes and have clear guidelines for proper waste sorting and responsible resource management. Through continuous optimization and conscious choices, we strive to minimize our environmental impact and contribute to more sustainable development.

Are there price lists?

No, there are no price lists, as all goods and orders are customer- and project-specific, but we are always happy to prepare a quote.

(For restraint equipment, prices can be found on www.restraintsystems.eu with login)

Can private customers purchase from Protra Group?

No, to purchase from us, you must have a CVR number (business registration number).

Is it your own production, and where is it located?

Yes, our production facility in Gniezno, Poland, is owned by us, and we have daily contact with our colleagues.

What production capabilities do you offer?

In our production, we can offer, among other things:

  • Industrial Sewing Workshop
  • Sailmaking
  • Saddlery
  • Case Workshop
  • Foam Workshop
  • Die Cutting
  • Packing

We can be involved from the initial idea all the way to the finished product.

What materials do you work with?

We have a large stock of standard materials, and otherwise, materials are procured for specific orders.

Materials we most often work with:

  • Cordura (Highly durable and waterproof material, often used for bags)
  • Canvas (We use cotton canvas for our film bags to prevent static electricity)
  • PVC (PVC is durable and very weather-resistant. Often used for covers and tarps)
  • Webbing (Webbing is used for straps/belts and is available in both cotton or polyester)
  • Buckles (Plastic or aluminum, depending on requirements)
  • Zippers (Most often YKK, but other alternatives are also available)
  • Velcro (Hook/Loop is available in various widths)
Can you make samples/prototypes?

Yes, that is one of our core competencies, so we can certainly help with that.

Read more about ‘Prototypes’ here.

Who creates drawings/cutting files and 3D visualizations?

Sketches/Roughs are made by Protra Group or the client during the quotation process to give us a better understanding of the product.

Cutting files are created and often used in the production process, and if needed, this will be stated on the order confirmation.

Visual 3D drawings can be purchased for an additional fee.

Do you produce clothing?

No, we do not offer clothing production. Protra Group does not work with clothing manufacturing or other tasks that require finer textile processing, such as sewing, pattern construction, or garment textile processing.

Our competencies and production facilities are geared towards other types of tasks, and therefore, we cannot ensure the quality and precision that clothing and garment production require. If your project involves clothing or similar textile products, we recommend contacting a specialized clothing manufacturer or textile company that has the right setup and expertise for the task.
